“SENSE IN PLACE” - Site-ations International, Europe 2005-2006 is a year long site-related arts project exploring thematic, artistic and multi-media responses to different places on the peripheries of Europe. The project involves an exchange of artists from 10 European countries and the dissemination of accrued knowledge within publications, conferences and educational projects.
Sixty artists will investigate the social, historical and environmental contexts of diverse places, both revealing the hidden and often contested nature of these regions.
FIELD STUDIES I
An installation based on field studies conducted in Sligo Ireland in August 2005 in Oxfield in Carney and Hazelwood respectively.
For this project I built “visitor centres” on the two different sites and tried to make them attractive to animals in the surrounding areas.
I then spent some time observing these sites, to see what would take place and to take photographs, shoot video and to make drawings and observations.
This project was a part of Site-ations International
